Parent Consultation
Starting therapy for your child can feel like a big and sometimes uncertain step. Many parents come to this process feeling overwhelmed, concerned, or unsure what kind of support will actually help.
The parent consultation is designed to create clarity before beginning therapy. This conversation allows us to understand your child more fully, explore what you’ve already tried, and determine whether this approach is the right fit for your family.
This is not an intake where you are expected to have all the answers. It is a space to talk openly about your concerns, your child’s strengths, and the patterns you are noticing.
During the consultation we may discuss:
Your child’s emotional and behavioral patterns
Developmental history and current stressors
School experiences and external feedback
Family dynamics and daily challenges
What has or has not helped in the past
What meaningful progress would look like for your child
Parents often leave this conversation feeling more grounded and less alone in navigating their child’s needs.
If we decide to move forward, we will develop a plan that supports both your child’s development and your role as a parent.
Why start with a parent consultation?
Children’s therapy is most effective when parents feel informed, supported, and confident in the process. This step helps ensure that therapy is intentional rather than reactive.
